Leon Moore Sr, 95, of Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by a daughter, and is survived by his wife, two children, and three grandchildren. No services are planned at this time.

Leon was born in 1930, and upon reaching adulthood, began a career in the United States Army. Attaining a rank of SSG, Leon found great success through his natural leadership abilities. He was responsible for training soldiers, acting with integrity, holding himself and others accountable, and leading by example which were all roles he was well suited for.

Following his time in the Army, Leon began his second career at Boeing. After his retirement, he continued with some part-time work to keep busy and ward off boredom.

Leon was a very private man who valued his family and his faith. He was a devoted husband for 55 years who kept things lively with jokes and humor. As a father, Leon tried to instill in his children the values of hard work, commitment to family, and responsibility. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events, school programs, award ceremonies, and concerts, never passing up a chance to let them and others know how proud he was of them.

When Leon walked into a room his presence was felt; that presence will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, please tell a "dad" joke, watch a football game or a Western, play a hand of poker, or spend some time with family as these were the types of moments that brought Leon joy.
