Obituary

Lawrence O. Kennedy Jr, 81, died Wednesday, February 26th in Rose Hill Ks.

Born on April 5th, 1943, in Cowley County Kansas, he was the son of Lawrence O. Kennedy Sr. and Geraldine A. Baalmann Kennedy.

Larry was a gifted athlete throughout his school years in Udall and Belle Plaine KS, and excelled in basketball and football.

After graduation, he became very active in motorcycle racing and riding for fun in the mountains of Colorado. His love of racing developed into the business of Staracer Manufacturing where he built and sold flat track racing frames and equipment that was recognized and used in competition internationally.

Other business ventures included owning and operating Kennedy Cycle Parts, Yamaha of Wichita, Satellite Dish sales and installations, and Kennedy Tire, all of Wichita, KS.

Larry was also a lifelong outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting game birds and working with sporting bird dogs. He was well known for his accurate shooting, his participation in sponsoring and mentoring young motorcycle racers and his natural ability to talk to strangers.

Larry is survived by 4 daughters; Renee Eberle (Joe) of Temecula, CA, Rae Ann Evans (Ron) of Haysville, KS, Janet Toon (James) of Basehor, KS, and Angela Toon of Wichita, KS; 16 Grandchildren, 37 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great- Granddaughter.

A memorial has been established with Interim Home Healthcare and Hospice Services in Wichita, Ks.
