LaVone Valentine Mace, 95 passed away on March 1, 2025 at his home peacefully with his daughter Theresa by his side.  He was born November 5, 1929 in Ford Co.  the son of Henry James and Opal Leona (Scott) Mace.

He at young age went to live on his Grandma VanBuren's Farm in Tyro, KS where he worked hard doing farm chores  and learned how to farm. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the US Army Air Force and was in the Korean War. Being Honorably discharged in 1952 he then returned to Wichita, KS. where he soon met the love of his life Darlene they were married on February 22, 1953 and resided in the Wichita surrounding area. He drove a truck for an oil company for several years, but wanting to be with his family more, he landed a job in aircraft with  Beechcraft/Cessna of Wichita, KS where he was a machinist and retired after 20+ years.

In retirement he loved going fishing with his family, gardening, raising goats, pigs & cattle on his farm. His last few years he was still able to get around  on his farm with his all terain "scooter"  he called the green hornet.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Darlene, Son, Donald Mace, Brother Vernon Mace, Sisters, Elizabeth (Mace) Taylor and Neva (Mace) Campbell.

Survived by 2 Daughters Cheryl ( David) O'Connor and Theresa Barr, Grandchildren Larry Dale ll ( Jenny ) Canup, Brooksie
(Jason) Pitzer, Great Grandchildren Larry Dale lll, Logan, Phenmore and Samantha, 3 honorary son's Larry Dale Sr Canup, Veldon
(Robin ) Benson, Shane (Christy) Reeder,  Siblings Kenneth Mace, Dana (Mace) Titus, Judy (Mace) Michon, Linda (Mace) Tracy, Kelly Mace.

Funeral Service is March 13, 2025 at The Goddard Church in Goddard, KS  at 10:30 a.m  burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetary in Wichita, Kansas.
