Obituary

Larry Woodruff, 81, a lifelong Wichita resident, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025 with his daughter at his side.  Born to George and Norma Woodruff, Larry graduated from Wichita East High School in 1961.  After attending Wichita State University, Larry joined the Air Force and served until 1969.  After his service, he worked in the technology industry for 38 years with his main occupation as a manager in computer storage manufacturing.

Not long after the Airforce, he met the love of his life, Ruth Ann and was married for 54 wonderful years.  Settling into family life in the 70's with Ruth, they were blessed with two children, Mary Ann and Paul.  They enjoyed many family trips together with favorites being Taylor Park Colorado, fishing for trout and explorations with picnic lunches in the mountains.  The Renfrow farm in Oklahoma was another favorite vacation spot where family all came together for hunting, fishing, food and just plain 'ol good family fun.  In later years those vacations included a wine tasting train in Sonoma County and an Alaskan cruise with close family.

He was a creative man with an eye for detail.  In his spare time, he was a gifted photographer and carpenter where his work still decorates and furnishes the family home.  You will also still find his chair on the front porch where his favorite past-time was enjoying a smoke and visits with family and friends.

Larry is survived by his two children, Mary Ann Talman, Paul (Shara) Woodruff, and grandson William Talman, and three siblings, Carol Maddox, Bill (Kay) Woodruff, and David (Nancy) Woodruff.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Woodruff, brother-in-law Charles Maddox, and parents George and Norma Woodruff.
