Larry G. Widmer 82, a long-time resident of Wichita, KS, passed away on April 10, 2025, at home surrounded by friends and family.

Larry was born on February 12, 1943, the son of Jacob and Bertha Widmer of Crosby, Minnesota. He graduated with honors from Kulm High School, North Dakota in 1961. Larry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND in 1964. Upon graduation, he was employed by Deloitte & Touche in Portland, OR. He returned to UND in 1966 and graduated with an MBA in 1967. Larry was employed at Dow Chemical Corporation from 1967 until 1986. Larry owned several businesses and a consulting business in Wichita before retiring in 2022.

Larry married Barbara Turner in 1969. The couple lived in Midland, Michigan and Carmel, Indiana before settling in Wichita, Kansas in 1987.

Larry is survived by his sisters-in-law Arlyce Widmer, Fargo, ND; Darlene Rupp (Bob), of Detroit, MI; Nancy Priest (Dan) of Hemlock, MI; Lynne Turner of Houston; nephew Greg (Heidi) Campbell, Bedford, IN; and a special cousin, Peggy Cichos of Fargo, ND.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; mother, Bertha; father, Jacob; sister, Shirley Campbell; brother, Harris; nephews, Mark Campbell and Keith Widmer.

A special thank you to neighbors, and friends that provided loving care and tremendous support.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:00 pm with a reception immediately following at the University Congregational Church, 9209 East 29th Street N, Wichita, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Choir Fund at the University Congregational Church.
