Kris Michael Callier, 66, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away in Wichita, Kansas, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Kris was born on December 1, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Kenneth Marvin Callier and Carlyon Ruth Keene. He worked as an aircraft machinist for 47 years before retiring in 2023 due to health reasons. A dedicated member of his community, Kris was a Third Degree Master Mason of Haysville Masonic Lodge No. 112. He was also an avid ham radio operator, known by his call sign KD6QB.
Kris had a passion for building street rods, building a total of 19 street rods and painting 23 and proudly owning a 1936 Pontiac Coupe. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and lending his skills to friends and family through countless home and vehicle repair projects. His generosity, craftsmanship, and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character.
Kris married his bride, Julia Colleen Lamooney, in 1983 in Wichita, Kansas. Together, they raised four children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lutrecia Lynne Callier.
Kris is survived by his wife, Colleen; his children: Kris Michael Callier II (Reina), Andrew Joseph Callier (Tarah), Jacob John Allen Callier (Isabela), and Sarah Ashley Michelle (Callier) Lamm (Shawn); father-in-law Gerald Lamooney; and step-brother Larry Dean (Susan). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren—Kris III, Penelope, Joseph, James, Alexander, Anthony, Thomas, Alyssa, Emliana, Theodore, Mylea, Aiden, Logan, Samuel, and Jessica—and one great-grandchild, Christian.
A Life Remembered
Kris will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his love for family, and his remarkable ability to fix nearly anything placed in front of him. His steady presence, quiet strength, and generous heart leave a lasting legacy in all who knew and loved him.
