Obituary

Kevin Marshall, 63, from Emporia, Kansas, born to Jerry and Lorraine Marshall. Passed away at home surrounded by family on March 1st, 2026.  He lived a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys that made him happiest. He was the third of six children (5 boys, 1 girl), "the middlest one of them all," as he would say. He grew up surrounded by strong family bonds that remained important to him throughout his life.

Kevin devoted his career to the electrical trade, proudly working as an electrician and retiring early from the IBEW. He was known for his strong work ethic and skilled hands and often joked that he had done "more concrete work than an electrician should," spending decades remodeling his home and helping others whenever he could.

Outside of work, Kevin found joy in playing the drums and listening to heavy metal music. He loved photography, traveling across the country, and spending time in the mountains. One of his greatest pleasures was riding his Harley-Davidson and exploring the open road. Many of those adventures were shared with his longtime companion, Ethel, as they traveled the states together creating lasting memories.

Above all else, Kevin loved his family. He is survived by his son, Den Marshall (Rachelle), and his daughter, Abby Reed (John), along with his bonus daughters, Kristie and Misty. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren who brought him tremendous happiness. He is also survived by his brothers; Mike (Arlette), Keith (Kim), Brad, Todd (Karen) and his deeply loved favorite sister, Lori (James).

Kevin was preceded in death by both parents and his longtime companion, Ethel.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, sense of humor, craftsmanship, love of music and travel, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught and the reminder to always make life "more gooder."
