Kenneth Jay Laessig, 81, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023. He was born on April 30, 1942, to Keith and Genevieve "Gen" Laessig in Salina, Kansas. Everyone knew him as Jay, but his family knew him as Honey, Dad, or Papa. No matter what you called him, he was known for his gift of gab, his ornery nature, his artistic gifts, his acts of service for the church, and – most of all – his love of family, including his beloved wife, Peggy.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Gen; his brother and sister-in-law, Kay and Debbie; and a beloved son, Troy. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Wichita; daughter Anita (Greg) of Lyons, sons Scott (Belinda) of Wichita, Roger (Britt) of Hutchinson, Tracey (Dana) of Parker, CO, and Todd (Raina) of Memphis, TN; nephews Darron, Jason, and Gavon; grandchildren Haley (Tyler), Travis, Alyson (Corbyn), Alexa (Noah), Aaron (Russell), Peyton, Jordan, Hayden, Jillian, Keegan, Zachary, Brock, and Tristan; and his treasured great-grandchildren Madelynn, Elias, Noah, Seger, and Taytum.
