Kathy Louise Blaine

Kathy Blaine, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Kathy was a graduate of Campus High School and will be remembered for her kind heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for her family. Throughout her career, she worked in bookkeeping, where her attention to detail and dedication were greatly appreciated. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding horses and cherished the freedom and happiness they brought her. Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple things. She loved browsing hardware stores, listening to good music, feeding the birds and squirrels, and spending time with the people she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Wilbur Blaine, and her sister, Susan.

Kathy is lovingly remembered by her son, Josh (Shelly), and their children, Abigail, Hannah, and Sam; her daughter, Allie (Chris), and their son, Jackson. She is also survived by her siblings: Jim Holmes (Connie), Dale (Vicki), Mike (Diane), John (Lori), Jeff, Jan Janzen (Craig), and Patricia Rump, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Kathy's warmth, gentle spirit, and unconditional love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Whether she was balancing the books, wandering the aisles of her favorite hardware store, enjoying good music, caring for the birds and squirrels outside her home, or reminiscing about her days riding horses, she found happiness in life's everyday moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will never be forgotten.

We will be celebrating the life of Kathy Blaine, on Saturday, August 1, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at the Peck Community Center, located at 707 E. 119th Street, Peck.

She wanted a casual, come-and-go gathering where family and friends could simply spend time together, share memories, and celebrate her life. Beverages will be provided, and you're welcome to bring a small snack to share if you'd like.

If you're able to join us, please stop by anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. We would love to see you.

One last request from Mom: she told Jackson that everyone must leave in a conga line, and she wanted Moonlight Sonata playing so no one would hear a certain song in the grocery store and be reminded of her. It was her way of leaving us with one last smile, and we hope it brings one to you, too.
