It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Katherine Marie Lenz, age 77, on August 3rd 2025 with her family by her side at Via Christi St. Francis hospital in Wichita Kansas.  Katherine was born on June 8th, 1948 in Colorado Springs and lived a life filled with love, kindness and selflessness.  She attended St. Mary's Catholic school and went on to graduate from Northern Colorado University with her degree in Special Education. Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a pillar of strength to all who knew her. She had a close relationship with God and a passion for reading, family and the arts. In previous years she loved and was incredibly talented at playing the piano. Her generosity and warm spirit touched the lives of many. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Renollet of Wichita, Cheryl Duart of Wichita and Jacob "Danny" Lenz of Peabody. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob B Lenz, her mother, Vivian Crum and her sister, Judy Causey. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 4:30 pm at The Dwelling Church, 5221 E Elm St, Ste 2, Wichita, KS 67208. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude's Children's hospital, a local humane society, or simply someone in need. Mom, we love you always and your love and guidance will remain in our hearts as your legacy forever.
