Judith Ann
Mcclard
Oct 29, 1946 — Jan 17, 2025
Wichita
Judith Ann "Judy" (Richardson) McClard entered her eternal rest on January 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. Judy was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 29, 1946 to Karl Kenneth Richardson Sr. and Constance Marie "Connie" Sharp, the eldest of three children. She graduated from Wichita West High School in 1964 and subsequently attended Wichita State University and earned a degree in speech pathology. Judy loved horses and was an accomplished rider, barrel racer, and rodeo queen in her early years.
Judy married the love of her life, Michael Ivan "Mike" McClard in Wichita on June 15, 1968. She worked as a speech pathologist for the Wichita School District and tutored students in her home. The couple was blessed with their daughter, Jenny, who was born July 19, 1982. Judy became a homemaker, but devoted her time in the service of others, volunteering regularly with the local 4-H group, Wild Bird Center, and as room mother at her daughter's school for years. She loved gardening, cooking for family gatherings, and reading. The most important aspect of Judy's life was her faith; she committed her life to Jesus in 1965 and was baptized at Meridian Avenue Baptist Church. She spent her life walking out that faith each day, her close relationship with the Lord evident in every facet of her character – her peaceful countenance, grace in every situation, patience during trial, and undeniable joy she shared freely with others.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Karl Kenneth "Kenny" Richardson Jr., and her brother-in-law Gary Leo McClard. She is survived by Mike, her husband of 56 years, daughter Jennifer Ann "Jenny" (Bryan) Kirk, and grandsons Cooper Michael Kirk and Graham Christian Kirk, all of Wichita. She is also survived by her brother Martin Dean Richardson and wife Marcela of Wichita; sister-in-law Jerri (Stan) McMillin, of Jonesboro, AR; sister-in-law Kathleen (John) Mackey of Wichita; nephew Wayne (Melissa) McClard of Jonesboro, AR; niece Shellie (Brad) Barnett of Jonesboro, AR; nephew Bryan (Ann) Mackey of Andover; and niece Erin (Travis) Self of Cheney. She also leaves behind a host of friends and fellow believers in Christ, who will miss her sweet spirit and compassionate heart, but rejoice for her that she is with her Lord and Savior.
