Joyce Elaine Harshfield, 75, of Wichita, Kansas left us peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. A mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joyce, or "Grammy" will always be remembered for her will power, kindness, and love for animals.

Born on June 23, 1949, in Wichita, Joyce is the daughter of Doris "Jean" and Conrad Friend, and younger sister of Patricia and David. Joyce loved nature and spent most of her childhood outside, often surrounded by close friends.

Upon graduation from East High School, Joyce immediately began working at Southwestern Bell, later AT&T, where she would remain until retirement in 2003. Joyce would spend the next 16 years helping raise her grandchildren in Florida, Michigan, and Alabama before returning to Wichita in 2019.

Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Dunne III, and the marriage lasted until his death in 1976. The relationship yielded three children, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Paul Wise and Jacob Dunne, daughter Jessica Olson, as well as her grandchildren Alex Acocella, Jacob Wise, Hayden Olson, Brenna Olson, Brady Dunne, and Addison Dunne, and great-grandchildren Eli Acocella, Audrey Acocella, and Alex Olson.

A service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held on Saturday May 24, at a place to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kansas Humane Society or Lifeline Animal Placement.
