Peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, Joshua Velvin Zimmerman, 41, of Wichita, passed away on Wednesday, September 24th. Joshua, or 'Z' as he was known by most, was an amazing athlete in any sport he participated in. He had his Grandpa Z's knack for storytelling and didn't know a stranger. He was funny, engaging and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Later in life, Joshua had his struggles and his path was not an easy one to which he succumbed to. Our time with Josh was shortened by a disease that was unforgiving and unpredictable. Our family will remember all the good times, the laughter and all the shenanigans Josh was a part of.

Josh did the most selfless act as an organ donor and gifted three recipients with a new chance at life.

He is preceded in death by his Grandpa Cloyd & Grandma Rose Zimmerman, Grandpa Charles & Grandma Ruby Neal; Great Grandma Ruby; Uncles, Dennis Zimmerman, Ward Garrison; Aunt, Kim Zimmerman.

He is survived by his Mother-Sharon Prescott, Wichita; Father-Steve Zimmerman; his children-Nevaeh, Aaliyah, Cami, Charli, Nolan, Ryker and Kaidin, sisters- Melissa(Ben)Brown, Abby Zimmerman, all of Haysville, adopted siblings-Brooklyn, Madison, Zackery, Bryan; Aunts/Uncles-Robin Garrison, Russellville, Mo., Teresa(Glenn)Rose, Wichita, Angie(Harold)Crawford, Springfield, Mo., Tressa(David), Okla., Chuck(Kelly)Neal, Charlene(Dwayne)Mansell, Michelle Livengood, all of Amarillo, Tx., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 at 3 pm at Haysville Activity Center, 523 Sarah Lane, Haysville, Ks 67060.
