Jonathan Lee Clayton-King, beloved husband, son and brother, was born June 21, 1982 and passed away August 3, 2024. Jonathan was extremely intelligent, having completed his associate's degree from Johnson County Community College in 2004. He then earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Fort Hays State University in 2019. While completing his master's degree in political science, Jonathan authored and published multiple papers on election swing states and demographics. He was asked to be a guest speaker on the subject several times. Jonathan loved music and he was proud to have played the trombone in his high school marching band at Greensburg High School.

Jonathan's greatest joys in life were helping others and seeing them succeed, keeping company with his husband and their beloved pets, and spending time with his sister and his nephews and his family. He adored his grandmother Betty and would often take her shopping and then out for lunch. Jonathan was the apple of her eye.

His fandom of the television show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" knew no bounds. He loved his hometown of Mullinville, Kansas and was proud to have grown up there while being raised by his father.

Jonathan and Christopher began friendship in 2002 that grew into a beautiful relationship in 2004, then were married on July 23, 2012. Jonathan leaves behind his husband, Christopher Clayton-King of Peabody, KS; his grandmother, Betty Clayton; his father and stepmother, Ronald and Susan Clayton; his sister Jessica Favela, and husband Sergio, and three nephews whom he treasured, all of Mullinville, KS. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in Mullinville and Peabody and even all over the rest of the country. Jonathan is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Smith, of Dodge City, KS.
