Our hearts are heavy with sorrow as we announce the passing of JW (Johnny) Woodman, aged 77, on October 16th, 2023. JW, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, will forever be remembered for the mark he left on our lives.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19th, 2023, at Baker Funeral home. The service is scheduled for Friday, October 20th, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., at Berean Baptist Church.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Zoe Woodman; his loving wife of 59 years, Donna; son, Mark; brother-in-law, Fred Long; sister-in-law, Patsy Long; great-grandchild, Kaden Nagle; and niece, Lisa Little. He leaves behind his sister, Ann (Jim) Little; children, Michael (Stacey) Woodman and Michelle (Nick) Kelley; daughter-in-law, Marie Woodman.
17 Grandchildren, Tiffaney (Nathan) Titus, Amy Woodman, Ashley Woodman, Matthew Woodman, Jonathan Woodman, Joshua Woodman, Breanna Woodman, Nathaniel Kelley, Megan Kelley, Kaden Kelley, Kendall Kelley, Cyrus Chippeaux, Andrew (fiancé Adrian) Nagle, Troy Nagle,  Aundria Nagle and Stephanie (Taylor) Steinbacher; and his 6 Great Grandchildren Petra, Grayson, Ireland, Italy, Hazel, and Lilliana , Nieces and Nephews, Laurie (Darren) Silbernagel, Jeff (Jennifer) Long, Kelly Little, Shannon Little (Judi Greider- Little), Renee Little, Melody Little and Sarah Little."

Pallbearers will include Matthew Woodman, Nate Kelley, Kaden Kelley, Jeff Long, Kelly Little, and Shannon Little.

Married in 1963, JW was a dedicated husband to Donna for 59 years, a testament to love and resilience. Johnny and Donna adored their three children, Mark, Michael, and Michelle.

He deeply cherished his role as a grandfather, always taking time to celebrate the achievements of his grandkids, offering words of wisdom, and creating lasting memories. His love for sports was evident as he proudly cheered them on from the sidelines, sharing their joys and sorrows.

And amidst all the cherished memories, the family gatherings over plates of spaghetti stand out. It was more than just a meal—it was a bonding experience, a tradition that JW held close to his heart.

Reflecting on Johnny's life, it's evident that his love for family was unparalleled. He wasn't always the most expressive, but his actions spoke volumes. He was a pillar of strength and stability for his family, providing unwavering support through thick and thin.

JW's passion extended beyond his family. As an enthusiastic machinist, he cherished the memories created while working on race cars, forging lifelong friendships along the way. He was a fervent supporter of the Shockers and Royals, with sports being a significant part of his life.

His dedication to work showcased his unwavering commitment and strong work ethic, inspiring those around him. His family could easily see that he was passionate about his work as he would always go the extra mile. But above all, the legacy JW and Donna created will forever live on through the lives they touched and the memories they created.

JW was loved by every single person in his family. His love was unwavering and true and his loyalty and stability were the bedrock of our close-knit and loving family. The legacy he and Donna created will continue to flourish in each and every one of us.

We will carry forward the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we hold dear. May we honor his life by living with the same dedication, loyalty, and unwavering love that he embodied.
