Obituary

John Masculine Juul
September 23, 1953 – October 16, 2025

John Masculine Juul passed away peacefully at his home on October 16, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on September 23, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, to Clarence Magnus and Lenia Mae (Foraker) Juul.

John's early years were spent in various places as his father's work took the family to different towns, but on his 15th birthday they settled in Cedar Vale, Kansas—a community John would proudly call home for the rest of his life. He graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1970 at just 16 years old.

John briefly attended the School of the Ozarks and worked as a glassblower at Silver Dollar City before returning to Cedar Vale, where he began a lifelong career in farming, cattle, and welding as a partner with 3C Farms. His strong work ethic, creativity, and love for the land were evident in everything he did.

In 1973, John married Marcia Hull Painter. Through this union, he had two sons and two daughters. Later in life, he married Lori Little Vogele in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, in 1993, and he had another son and daughter.

John was a man of many talents. He loved his family fiercely and found great joy in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether he was working outdoors, sharing stories, or lending a helping hand, John's humor and steady presence touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of Cedar Vale, Kansas; sons Chuck (Melissa) Juul, David (Bronika) Juul, and Miles Juul; daughters Johnna (Clint) Vogele, Lisa (Ryan) O'Neal, and Catherine (Michael) Juul; brother Sam (Pam) Juul; sisters Teresa Daniels, Mary (Bryan) Douglas, Molly (Ray) Walker, Lena (Jim) Duncan, and Christina Johnston; brother-in-law Ed Snyder; sister-in-law Cheryl Juul Burns; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Taylor Gene Vogele; brothers Clarence "Sonny" Juul, Robert "Bob" Juul, and Peter "Pete" Juul; and sisters Melinda (Rosy) Snyder, Elaine (Juul) Kelso, Joann (Juul) Moore, and Leda Juul.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to the SCH Healthcare Foundation in Sedan, Kansas, designated for the Physical Therapy Department, P.O. Box C, Sedan, KS 67361.
