John McBride Armstrong, 87, of Wichita, KS passed away Sunday September 29,2024. He was born November 3, 1936, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Arthur R and Geralda (McBride) Armstrong. His mother passed away in 1942. A few years later, his father married Elizabeth
(Cottrell) Armstrong.

John enlisted in the Navy from May 1956 to August 1959. He met the love of his life, Wanda E (Laughlin) Armstrong on Sterling College campus in fall 1959 and they married August 25, 1961 in Sterling Ks. In May of 1967, John received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts at
Fort Hays State University.

Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Scott (Sue) Armstrong and Art (Doty) Armstrong.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda, daughters Lynn (Obe) Brant and Christen Strader (Travis Nichols). Grandchildren, Nicole (Joey) Grimes, Wyatt Brant, Hope Strader, Dylan (Kaylyn) Brant, Samuel (Airam) Brant and Tate Brant. Great grandchildren, Joseph Brant and Ruth Brant. His brother, Dale (Catherine) Armstrong of Carey, NC and brother-in-law Jim Macdonald of Lenexa, KS, nephews and nieces.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:30 AM, Central Community Church (Chapel), Wichita KS. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Cheney, KS with immediate family.

Memorials may be given to Central Community Church (Missions or Maintenance, please specify).
