MULLEN, JOAN MARIE NORTON

Joan Marie Norton Mullen passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. She was born August 29, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Audrey and Everett Norton.

Joan graduated from North High School, Class of 1952, and attended Friends University. She was a member of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America and the Randolph Loving Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Known to many as the "Swan Lady," she raised swans, was a devoted animal advocate, and expressed her creative spirit through many forms of art and craft.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard "Dick" Mullen; her daughter, Janet Mullen; and her sister, Ada Pauline "Paula" Norton.

She is survived by her son, Richard "Rick" Mullen; grandchildren Casey Clampitt (Kyle Ebel), Carter Mullen, and Madison Mullen; and great-grandchildren Thomas Ebel, Lucy Ebel, and Vivienne Mullen.

A private service will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the University of Kansas Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, in her honor.
