Jimmie L. Schock, 86, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024. He was born on August 26, 1938, and lived a full and active life surrounded by family and friends.Preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Charles, and Nelson; sister Gloria Moyer; and sons, Brad and Brian. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, L. Jane (Janie) Schock, their son, Brent D. Schock (Lori), and sister Evelyn Bowen. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jim worked for Braniff International and Northwest Airlines in the Wichita and Kansas City airports. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and racquetball and in retirement, found a new passion in the sport of pickleball, becoming a well-known figure in the Wichita senior pickleball community. His enthusiasm for life, competitive spirit, and warm presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Celebration of life will be held October 25, 2024 from 10:00am to 2:00 pm at the Plum Shelter at Sedgwick County Park. A light lunch will be available.
