Obituary

Jimmie Ray Peak, 81, of Wichita, KS, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024.  He was born August 9, 1943, in Oakdale, Louisiana, the son of Ray and Iris Peak.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandpa "Papa", Great-Grandpa, uncle, and friend to many.

Jim graduated from Trego Community High School in 1961.  After his graduation from high school, Jim joined the Navy with a group of friends and served his country for 3 1/2 years as a Navy Seaman.  He was a graduate of Wichita Business College in 1964 and had a successful career as a salesman with Industrial Uniform Company for 40 years until his retirement.  He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Robert J. Dole Veterans Hospital.  He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs and the Wichita State Shockers but his true passion in life was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Gayle; brother, Marion;  granddaughters, Emily and Kaitlyn; and many beloved pets.

Survivors include the love of his life of 60 years, Valerie Peak; son, Todd Peak; daughter, Tracy Lolley (Greg); daughter, Terri Bosley (Scott); grandchildren, Miranda (DJ), Jesse, Keri, Brianna (Claudio), Cheyenne, Gatlin, and Gabrielle, 9 great-grandchildren and brother, Roy Peak (Jan).

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024 at West Side United Methodist Church; 1313 W. Lydia in Wichita, KS.
