Jess (Jay) Herren Dean, Jr. age 59 of Haysville, Kansas entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. He entered into life on December 27, 1964 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Jess Herren and Jacqueline Dean. He was a long term employee of O'Reilly Auto Parts in Wichita, KS and had just celebrated his 15th year of employment with the company. Jay loved spending time in Chase County, specifically in Matfield Green with his father; fishing, hunting, target shooting, and grilling steaks (he was very good at cooking). He also enjoyed spending time with his grandson Kain.

Jay graduated from Chase County High School in 1983. He married Stacey Roberts and they were blessed with two sons, they later divorced.

Jay is survived by: his father, Jess H. Dean and stepmother Kathy of Matfield Green, KS, sons Jess H. Dean III and Josh Dean of Haysville, KS, grandson Kain Dean of Wichita, KS, brother Jamie Dean of El Dorado, KS, and sisters Tammy Talkington and Lynn McCabe and husband Mark McCabe of El Dorado, KS.

Jay is preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline, brothers Chris and Dave Carroll.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Matfield Green Community Church, Matfield Green, KS. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
