Jerry W. Soden, 83, retired Crane Operator for Vulcan Chemicals, passed away Saturday, February 24th, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas.

Jerry was born July 11th, 1940, to Clarence and Louise (Poe) Soden in El Dorado, Kansas.  He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1958 after which he joined the Navy serving on the USS Chemung.

Jerry and his wife spent most weekends at their lake house in Council Grove where he enjoyed fishing and boating.  Eventually, they would trade their lake life for warm winters in Mission, Texas. He enjoyed doing volunteer work such as Habitat for Humanity as well as a regular blood donor at the Red Cross.

Jerry was a loving, honest, dependable, supportive husband, and a very patient, loving, reliable and funny dad and grandpa in addition to a great friend to many.

Jerry is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Jack, and grandson Tyler.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice, his daughters Teri (Charley), Kelly (Linda), Dori, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
