Janice Kay Avila

Janice Kay Avila, 69, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in the hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 17, 1957, to James and Anna English, who welcomed her into a life that would go on to touch so many.

Janice was the devoted wife of Rafael Avila-Corona, with whom she shared 42 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, commitment, and family. She was a dedicated employee at Buckley Industries, where she had faithfully worked since March 31, 1997, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew her.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anna English; her cherished daughter, Deanna Garcia; her sister, Julie Chairez; her brothers, Donald English and Jerry English; and her beloved grandson, Miguel Avila.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Rafael Avila; her sister, Wanda Clark; her children, Rosalynda Hernandez, Christopher English, and Rien Avila; her nine grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Janice was truly the heart and glue of her family. She brought comfort, strength, and unity to those around her, always putting others before herself and offering unconditional love and support. Her kindness, resilience, and warmth will be deeply missed but forever treasured.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home in Wichita, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janice's name to the American Cancer Society.

Janice's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
