Janet Marie (Rider) Grisham, 80, of Wichita, Kansas, was sent to her eternal home on July 23, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas after a brief illness . She was the daughter of Arthur and Lola (Winchester) Rider.
Janet was affectionately known as a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, a strong and quiet resolve, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.
Janet graduated from Charlotte High School in 1962 and later became a CNA in 1985, working at various nursing homes and then became a home health aide in 1988.
She married her true love, Sam Grisham, on November 18th, 1963. He preceded her in death from Leukemia in February of 2017 after 54 loving years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lola Rider, half siblings, Chester Rider, Ernest Rider, Lena Rider, Dorothy Rider, brothers, William Rider, Noel Rider and J.R. Rider, sisters, Joyce (Rider) Wilson, Bettye (Rider) White, and Robbie (Rider) Stafford.
Janet is survived by her children Terry, wife Viktoriya, daughter Emerie Grisham, Tom, wife Kim, son Darren Grisham, Mary (Grisham) Dagenais, daughter Tawni Dagenais, son Gage Dagenais, daughter Kallista Dagenais with great grandson Kaius Dagenais, son Wyatt Dagenais, daughter Cadence Dagenais, her sister Francis (Rider) Satterwhite, and special pseudo daughter Stephanie Dunnavant.
Janet was, is, and will always be the BEST MOM EVER. She was kind beyond measure and unconditionally caring, and the embodiment of everything to aspire to.
Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm at Baker Funeral home at 6100 E Central in Wichita, Ks. Service will be graveside at 10:00 a.m. at Maize Park Cemetery at 12733 West 53rd St N, Maize, KS 67101.
