Jan Carol
(Rhinehart) Holly
Jun 5, 1956 — Nov 11, 2024
Wichita
Jan Carol (Rhinehart) Holly was born on June 5, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to Pharoah and Joan Rhinehart. She was the oldest child of her parents two daughters. In 1958, when Jan was two years old, the Rhinehart family moved to Wichita, KS where the family would plant roots for generations to come.
A graduate of Wichita South High School's class of 1972, Jan later went on to attend Wichita State University with dreams of becoming an interior designer. While her early ambitions were centered on design, it was clear that God had a different plan for her future.
Jan had two children early on in her life, whom she adored greatly. In the mid 1980s Jan attended a Colorscope Band performance at McConnell Air Force Base. Little did she know that the show would change her life in an amazing way. It was there she met Ronald "Dewayne" Holly, the band's founder, manager, drummer, and backup vocalist. Jan and Dewayne quickly fell in love and were married on April 14, 1986. Together, they brought three more children into the world; blending their family into a union that was both loving and strong.
Jan worked in various roles throughout her life, with the most notable being her time at Wesley Medical Center and her eventual retirement from the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital.
Jan had a passion for many things, including home remodeling, thrift store shopping, and online bargain hunting. She had an extraordinary talent for finding treasures—whether clothes, furniture, or unique knick-knacks—and loved giving them away to friends and family. Though she was often reserved and private, Jan's devotion to her family was immeasurable. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Jan was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Rhinehart; her sister, Carol Rhinehart; and her grandparents, John and Thelma Booth and Josie Smith.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Ronald "Dewayne" Holly; her father, Pharoah Rhinehart; her children, Stephanie Rhinehart, James "Casey" (Angie) Rhinehart, Jennifer (Ricky) Lasley, Kyle Holly, and April (Tim) White; her grandchildren, Mason, James Jr., Ricky III, Angelina, Isaiah, Mariah, Adrienne, Anaya, and Pharaoh; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Jan's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home - 6100 East Central - Wichita, KS.
