James Roscoe Nix, 66, passed away on Mar 28, 2026. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

James attended Mulvane High School before proudly enlisting in the United States Army. He served his country with honor as part of the 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry, and was stationed in Mainz, Germany. During his service, he specialized as a Dragon gunner, reflecting his dedication and strength as a soldier. He enjoyed being a father and later was an even prouder grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife Isabel Nix; his parents, Erma Nix and Jimmie Nix; his brother, Donald Nix; and his sisters, Mary and Rhonda.

James is survived by his children: Daughter Shandi Van Dolah, 40 and her husband Jason Van Dolah, 46; Sons, James Nix, 38 and Brett Nix, 36; Step-daughter, Melissa Garcia, 27. He is also survived by his siblings: Jeannie, David, and Elma, along with his cherished grandchildren and extended family.

James will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.

A memorial in his honor will be arranged at a later time for close friends and family.
