Obituary

James Harold Knox, known to friends and family as "Jim," departed this earth on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his Wichita home. Born on February 11, 1941, in Wellington, KS, Jim was the beloved son of Harold and Melba Knox.

He grew up on a farm alongside four sisters and one brother. Beulah "Rogene" Curry, Virginia Opal Bacon, and Margorie Louise Cartmill preceded him in death, Jim is survived by his younger siblings, Mary Hazel Sneed and William Merrick Knox.

On June 10, 1961, Jim married June S. Crossnoe. They shared 27 years together and raised three children: Michael "Mike" Knox, Karen Manion (spouse Dan Manion), and Debra "Debbie" Haslam (spouse Kirk Haslam). June's departure on August 24, 1988, came much too soon for both of them.

Family was always the most important thing in Jim's life.  His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Audrey Knox, Emma Knox (children of Michael), Justin Sallee, Lindsay Ward (spouse Whitley Ward), Lauren Reid (children of Karen), Amber Haslam, Nicholas "Nick" (spouse Melinda Haslam), Dillon Haslam, and Bethany Haslam (children of Debbie).

Jim's family continues on with the arrival of great-grandchildren: Cayden Sallee (parent Justin), Stella Ward (parent Lindsay), and Logan Haslam (parent Nicholas).

After several years of living alone, Jim was blessed to meet and fall in love with Alana Jones Williams. Their marriage on May 22, 1997, marked the beginning of another chapter of his life. Jim also gained a step son, Justin Williams..

As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, may we find comfort in the memories we shared with Jim and the many ways he touched our lives.
