James Earl Asbury, 78, of Haysville, KS, passed away Sunday January 5th at Harry Hynes Hospice at St Francis.  He was born on September 13th, 1946 in Winfield KS to Earl and Aileen Asbury.

James graduated from Atlanta High School in 1964.  After graduation he joined the Air Force where he was ultimately stationed in Colorado.  During his time in Colorado, he met the love of his Life, Eva Trujillo.  They were married September 24th, 1966.

James was the father of two daughters, Tina Asbury and Melisa Wingfield, both of Haysville. He has two grandchildren, Caterina (Matt) Fudge of Haysville and Tony (Emma) Wingfield of Chicago Il.  He had some bonus grandchildren: Kali Beach, Cole Gunter, Makenna Frehse and Libby Brooks.   He had a multitude of friends that he considered family.

James was a jack of all trades, working as a farmer, a truck driver, a sign man and a mechanic to name a few.  He would help anyone with anything.

A celebration of life will be held at Freeman Elementary School 7303 S Meridian Ave Haysville, KS 67060 on January 18th at 1 pm. His ashes will be scattered at the family farm at a later date.
