Jack Dale Edwards, 71, of Derby, KS, passed away on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Harlin and Evelyn Edwards, and was their only child. He was born on 2/23/1953 in Jackson County, MO. He grew up in Mountain View, AR where he graduated from high school, and then eventually moved to Wichita, KS in the 1970s. He worked for Cessna, the Derby School District, Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower Airport, and eventually retired from Kice Industries.

He is survived by 2 children, Michael Edwards of Beverly, MA, Jamie Eaton, (Cambridge) and 2 grandchildren Oron Levi and Asher Dietrich, all of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by his girlfriend Suzy Shoemaker who he met at Lakefront Senior Living Facility. He made several friends at Lakefront, and lived there until his death.

Jack was a lover of music (particularly the Beatles, Johnny Cash, and Foreigner-just to name a few), scary movies, and Chiefs football. He was naturally shy, but kind hearted and well-liked by many. His children have memories of trips to Arkansas to visit relatives, adventures on the back of a motorcycle, weekend trips to the drive-in, and hours sunbathing at the pool. He will be remembered lovingly by his friends and family.

A memorial will be held at Baker Funeral Home in Wichita, KS at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 3rd.
