Ida Clysta (Toosie) Britton, 90, of Washington, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, 28 November 2023, at her home in Wichita, KS with her daughter and son present. She was born 5 September 1933, in Washington, GA, the daughter of John Brittain and Inez Hurley.

Ida Graduated from Washington Colored High School in 1952. She attended Albany State College, now Albany State University.   She earned her Bachelor's Degree in 1959, in elementary education.

She married Edward F. Britton, on 24 October 1954, of Philadelphia, PA he preceded her in death on 18 July 2016, after 61 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Brittain and Inez Hurley, sister: Emma Jones, of Cleveland, OH, Sister: Ida Mae Ferrell, of Cleveland Ohio, Sister: Elizabeth Miller, of Cleveland, OH, son: Edward F. Britton of Wichita, KS, son: Arnold R. Britton, of Wichita, KS, niece: Beverly Ferrell, of Cleveland, Ohio, Nephew: Mark McCoy, Nephew: Anthony Ferrell, of Atlanta, GA, Faye McCoy, of Cleveland, OH, Larry Jones, of Cleveland, OH, Brian Percy, of Cleveland, OH.

Survivors include: Nephew, Johnnie Ferrell, of Cleveland Ohio, Daughter: Angela Maria Britton, of Wichita, KS, Son: Lawrence P. Britton, of Tupelo, MS.

The Rosary/Vigil will be 10:00 a.m., with service following at 10:30 a.m, Friday, 8 December 2023, at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Wichita, 3000 E. 13th Street, Wichita, KS 67214.
