Harold Riley Trimmell, 94, of Wichita, KS, passed away September 5, 2024. Harold was born October 8, 1929, in Wichita, KS. He was the second oldest son of nine children born to Jack and Pearl (Sproat) Trimmell. Harold graduated from Coyville High School in 1948.
Harold went to work at Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas where he met Dorothy Joan Furstenburg and they married November 1955 and had seven children together.
In 1957, they moved to Little Falls, Minnesota where Harold farmed and with brother-in-law Raymond Furstenburg, started T&F Machinery Sales. Also while in Minnesota, Harold worked as an engineer for Crestline Boat Company. Afterward, Harold and family left Minnesota and relocated to Wichita, Kansas. While in Wichita, Kansas, Harold worked at Boeing, Learjet, and CAC Tool as an engineer. In 1978 Harold started STS Mold Builders and in 1987 he purchased Criss Optical Mfg. and in 1991purchased Zites Incorporated. Upon retirement in 2001 Harold returned to his first love, farming and going to auctions.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Trimmell, sisters Dorothy Cheney, Younda Floyd, Lillian Dunn, sons Brad, Mike, Rick Trimmell, and daughter Debra Parkes. He is survived by caregiver Esther Trimmell, brothers Jack and Maurice Trimmell, sisters Mary Moore, Mercedes Trimmell, children Wayne (Cathy) Trimmell, Diane (Larry) Loveall, Ronald Trimmell, 7 grandkids, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Harold was generous, loved to travel and loved having his family together.
A memorial dinner is being held Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Brightwater Bay, located at 4900 W. 31st St. S. Wichita, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Coyville, Kansas.
