Gene Walter Baker III, known to his friends and loved ones as Skip, passed away on February 3, 2024. A resident of Augusta, Kansas, he was 47 years old.

Skip was a super talented man when it came to building things and remodeling almost anything. He learned these skills from his own father and passed them on to his son, Gene. From home remodeling to automotive repair, Skip equipped his children with the tools needed to become responsible and capable adults. He was a devoted and loving father, husband, son, and friend. Known for his friendly nature, Skip knew no strangers - everyone he met became a friend. He had a gift for talking his way out of, or into, anything!

In his spare time, Skip enjoyed playing video and board games with his family. He cherished the moments spent with his beautiful wife and soulmate, Cinnamon, watching movies and listening to records. Skip's legacy will live on in every house, building, and business he constructed throughout Kansas. Skip's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Skip is survived by his mother, Jo-Ella Phinney; his wife, Cinnamon Baker; his son, Gene Walter Baker IV; his daughters, Kyra Cirkel and Jarika Canfield; his brother, Steve Baker; his step-mother, Lyla Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Walter Baker II, and his sister, Diane Radke.

A memorial service will be held at Baker Funeral Home on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The funeral home is located at 6100 E.
