It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary D Lofstead.  Gary was a lifelong Kansan, born in Ogallah and grew up in western Kansas before moving to Wichita.  Gary lived there for the rest of his life until his passing on November 4, 2025.  Gary married Barbara on December 3, 1959 and raised Juli Doan (husband Brad) and David Lofstead (wife Diana).  He was a highly successful insurance agent and developed many deep relationships with his clients over the 50 plus years working with Principal Life Insurance.

Over the more than 50 years in his profession, he achieved numerous performance awards and professional accreditations.  Gary was a winner of the prestigious Presidents Club Award numerous times which recognizes the top performers each year.  He also achieved two key professional accreditations, CLU and ChfC which he was very proud of.  His skills and deep industry knowledge helped ensure lifelong clients, rare in the business.

Gary is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara; daughter Juli; son David and grandchildren Taylor, Jordan and Caleigh and great grandchildren Andie, Shay and Beck.

A service will be held on November 14, 2025 at 11:00 at Riverlawn Christian Church (4243 North Meridian, Wichita KS).

Gary will always remain in our hearts.
