Gary A Langton

Gary Langton lived a life that could never be contained by a simple summary. He passed away on July 20, 2026 at the age of 78 surrounded by people who loved him, Gary leaves behind a life of family, love of music and laughter, and a passion for good food and adventure.

Gary was born June 23, 1948 in Wichita, KS to Bruce and Ruberta Langton. Gary was truly full of life as a child and carried that into his adulthood. Gary graduated high school from Wichita Southeast in 1966 and Wichita State University with a business degree in 1971. Gary made his living in telecommunication sales, mostly because it gave him a license to do what he did best: talk to anyone, He had a rare charm that could convince you of anything and a warmth that made you glad that he did. He retired from Cox Business.

Gary was an extremely passionate sports enthusiast who loved the Shockers, Jayhawks, Royals, and Chiefs. Whether cheering them on in his living room or in the stadium he was a true and loyal fan. His family was a great source of pride and support throughout his entire life. To know Gary was to love him.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Ruberta Langton and his first wife Mandy Langton, He is survived by his wife Julie Langton, daughter Niki (Darren) Rheuport, grandchildren Jack (Aubrey), Miranda (Jack), Morgan (Rayallen), and Maximus. Sister Beverly (Jack) Parker, brother Larry (Karla) Langton, nephews Craig (Amy) Parker, Aaron Langton, Ben (Karen) Langton, niece Karen (Steve) Radley and grand nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Gary.

A graveside memorial will be on August 8th at 11:00 at Greenwood County Cemetery,1407 E. 7th St, Eureka, KS. Following the memorial a celebration of life will take place from 1:00-3:00 at the clubhouse, Courtyards at Brookfield, 3738 Bedford St., Wichita, KS, casual dress. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been set up with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219 to help continue with his passion of helping animals in need.
