Galen Eugene Womack, 69, of Wichita, Kansas, stepped into Heaven peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 4th, 1954, in Wichita, the son of Eugene & Emma Jean Womack.

Galen graduated from Wichita Heights High School in 1972. He furthered his education at Friends University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree.  While at Friends University, he was a member of The Singing Quakers, the Symphonic and Marching Bands, and was lead trumpet for the Friends Jazz Band.  Galen was an accomplished Musician. He spent many years touring with the Continental Singers and Orchestra and Thurlow Spurr's Spurrlows. After graduation, he continued performing with the Singing Quakers Alumni Choir and Friends Alumni Jazz Band.

While at Friends University, Galen became a trusted and reliable friend to many people. His friendship circle has been a huge part of his life.  Above all, Galen was a strong warrior for Jesus and all who knew him are looking forward to reuniting with him in heaven. Galen was employed with the Wichita Public School District as a music teacher for a few years before becoming a self-employed contractor serving Wichita and surrounding communities.

He was a member at Wichita First Church of the Nazarene for 30 years where he also served as Head Security Director.  Galen received his security training at Strategos International later becoming an Instructor for Strategos.

Galen is survived by his son, Patrick Womack, two sisters, Sandra Cowsill, Tammy Loch, 1 brother, Marty Womack and 5 grandchildren.

A celebration party will be held in his honor at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, in the Central Community Church Atrium at 6100 West Maple Street in Wichita.
