Gabriel H.
Cortez, Jr.
Jan 4, 2002 — Feb 20, 2024
Gabriel H. Cortez Jr.
1.4.2002 - 2.20.2024
It is with profound sadness, we announce the tragic death of our dearest son Gabriel Cortez Jr on February 20th, 2024, forever will he be 22 years old.
Born in Lodi, California to Sarah Miranda and Gabriel Cortez on January 4, 2002, Gabriel came into this world with a profound fierceness for life. A rambunctious boy who loved all things, especially football. Early 2005, Gabriel met I'd like to say the other half of him, Ross, their bond throughout their lives together was unbreakable, a father son duo who's love had no boundaries, as if no beat was skipped. Their love of life, fishing and cooking was a beautiful bond to see.
In 2007 Gabriel became a big brother to Kason, and in 2010 our family tree was completed with Richard. Gabriel took pride in being a big brother, sharing the love of football and fishing with his little brothers.
In 2011 our family relocated to Kansas where Gabriel lived out the rest of his young days. To know Gabriel was to know love, kindness, laughter, so much laughter, compassion, a beautiful soul that cared so deeply for others, especially his Mama.
Then it happened, Gabriel became a father, the love he had for his children will forever be remembered in our hearts. He was the proud father to Andres, Evelyn and Jordan. His legacy will live on through the beautiful lives of his children.
On February 20th, 2024 the gates of Heaven were held open by his father Ross, Papa Tony, Uncle Ernie, and Aunt Terry, giving us some peace knowing he's home. Gabriel will not know sadness from the losses he experienced, Gabriel will know joy, Gabriel will forever be our angel in the stars above us.
He leaves behind a family who loved him fiercely.
His life didn't have to end, this tragic motorcycle accident was caused by someone not paying attention to the road, as his mother writing her sons obituary, I ask you to watch for motorcycles, stay off your phone, so someone else doesn't have to die.
