Fred Eugene Joseph, 86, of Rose Hill, KS, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, surrounded by family at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was born on August 4, 1937, in Shelburn, Sullivan County, Indiana, to Fred and Glady's Joseph.

Fred joined the US Army on December 13, 1957, and was assigned to the 18th Airborne Corps 82nd Division Fort Bragg, NC, where he served as a paratrooper. He received an Honorable discharge on November 30, 1963. After the Army, Fred worked as a Butcher at Safeway for 36 years.

He married Ouita Lee Martin on April 30, 1960, she preceded him in death on July 15, 1999, with 39 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Glady's Joseph and his brother, Richard Joseph. He is survived by his 5 sisters, JoAnn Christy, Carolyn Dickie, Sharon Rice, Judy LeCocq and Donna Griffith all of Indiana; 5 children, Sherri Hall (Don) of Grove, OK; Lori Powell (Dennis) of Jay, OK; Gina Dawson (Jeff) of Peck, KS; Stephen Joseph of Grove, OK; Lisa Abbott (Glenn) of Rose Hill, KS; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service to be held at Rose Hill Cemetery (between Rose Hill Rd and Prairie Creek Rd), Friday June 28, 2024, AT 10:00 am
