Obituary

Elva Marquetta Eilerts, 94, of Sedan, KS passed away May 16th, 2025 at St. John Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville, OK.

She was born December 22nd, 1930 south of Anthony, KS during the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. She was the daughter of Emmett and Leona Feely. Marquetta graduated from Manchester High School and attended WSU for 1.5 years. She worked at Innes Department Store and later served as the Marion County Clerk for 26 years. Marquetta was an avid outdoorswoman and loved to fish and hunt deer and turkey.

She married Earl Eugene Eilerts, WWII veteran, on May 3rd, 1952 and raised three children, Ronald, Judith, and Susan. She was preceded in death by Eugene Eilerts, two brothers, Clyde and Maynard Feely, sister Marjorie Parker, and one daughter Judith Diane Brinkman. Survivors include son Ronnie Eilerts (Karen), daughter Susan Brickler (Gary), 6 adoring grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A service will be held in her honor on Thursday, May 29th at 10:30 A.M. at Baker Funeral Home in Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery Memorial Gardens.
