Echo Elaine Penwell, 72, passed away on September 27, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Echo was born to Enos "Jack" Hopkins and Florence "Lorraine" Hopkins (Applebee) on November 27, 1951 in Casper, WY.  She married David Penwell on December 5, 1969 at Kimball, NE.

Echo and David had 2 children - 1 daughter also name Echo and 1 son named Steven.  She worked many years in the medical field as a CNA, Laundry, or as a Medical Transporter.  She also was a TA at the Leon Elementary School.  Echo spent many years as a foster parent, which lead to her and David adopting 2 more girls, Tyshia and Melissa and adding to their family.

Echo is survived by her 2 sisters, 1 brother, 4 children, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Echo will be held at Marion County Lake on November 16th at 10:30 a.m. at the South Lake Hall.
