Obituary

Douglas Eugene Boswell, affectionately known as Boz, 61, of Derby, KS, passed away Tuesday, May  14th, 2024, at Harry Hynes Hospital surrounded by family. He was born December 3rd, 1962, in  Wichita, KS, the son of Norman and Jessie (Epperson) Boswell.

Doug graduated from Derby High School in 1981. He trained with Local Pipefitters in the 80's and  eventually joined the HVAC field in 1993, where he was a HVAC DDC Technician for almost 20  years. He enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, and was a dedicated fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, and KU  basketball. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by friends and family, enjoying time  at the river, drinking beer, throwing shoes, bon fires, and a good cigar. His laughter and fun spirit  were contagious. It was later in life when Doug married a High School alumnus. He married Laura  Kathleen (Newman) Boswell on September 12th, 2015 on the river property he so loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Boswell in 1999. Survivors include son, Andrew  Ryan Hensley of Wichita, KS; daughter, Alyssa Boswell of Wichita, KS; son, Braden Boswell of Great  Bend, KS; son Daniel Bosley of Winfield, KS; stepson, Joshua Mae of Derby, KS; stepdaughter, Tori  Mae of Derby, KS. Other survivors include mother, Jessie Boswell of Derby, KS; sister, Vicki  Dickerson, of Derby, KS, sister Cindy Blassingame, of Derby, KS; brother Scott Henderson, of  Wichita, KS, sister Dani Henderson, of Wichita, KS; brother, James Henderson-Shire, of Derby, KS; 9  grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Gracepoint  Community Church in Wichita, KS. (9035 W Central Ave)
