It is with great sadness that we The McCue family announce the passing of our dear Aunt Dorothy ("Dot"," Heide") Heidebrecht in Wichita, Kansas on May 5, 2026 at the age of 98.

She was preceded by her parents, Arnold (AC) and Viola Heidebrecht of Burrton, Kansas as well as her sister, Fern McCue of New York/Massachusetts.

Dot was a graduate of Emporia State Teachers college and member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Music fraternity.  She enjoyed a lengthy career serving the public at the Wichita Library.

She was an accomplished clarinet player performing in several groups as well as teaching.  She was a supporter of WSU Musical Club and Music Associates /WSU Foundation that supports student musicians.  She regularly attended WSU recitals and the Wichita Symphony.

Dot loved her cats!  She is pictured here with Oscar.

Dot attended the Methodist Church and had many fine friends there.  In her later years she also attended the Christian Science Church.

Dot was a huge basketball fan and avidly followed the NBA, the NCAA tournament, and most especially the Wichita State Shockers.

The McCue Family  wishes to thank all those who helped "Heide" over the years, especially her good friends and former neighbors Kandy and Ashley Jones, their daughter Claudia, and the entire Jones family.  We would also thank all her friends in the community. Your support has meant the world to Dot and to us all.
