Doris Marie (Goad) Lewallen, 85, was called home to her loving Heavenly Father at Newton Medical Center in Newton, KS on Thursday, January 30, 2025, around noon from multiple medical issues. She was born May 4, 1939, in Joplin, Missouri to William (Bill) and Ruby (Decker) Goad. She very proudly would say "I was born in a chicken coup", which was turned into a home. Shortly after, the family moved to Newton, KS, where she grew up and attended school. On May 3, 1962, she married Marshall Lewallen and eventually moved to Austin, TX. She lived there a number of years raising her family. She moved back to Newton, KS after her loving Husband passed away on December 23, 2004, after 42 years of marriage.

She was a member of The Church of God of the Firstborn and attended regularly and was involved in all church activities. Her strong faith and love for the Lord shown through her daily. She loved going to church and would share her faith with anyone who would listen. She loved to sing the song "This little Light of Mine". Doris loved spending time with her family and her church family. She loved doing word search books, shopping thrift stores, collecting tote bags, purses, and pretty bows for her hair, and bright colored shoes. She loved fishing, but would never bait her own hook and most times would end up visiting with her family or falling asleep. She loved to tease, always smiled, and was always ready to go for a ride.

Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Goad; Her sisters, Karen Baker and Edna Franco and Husband Gregorio Franco; Brothers, William (Billy) Goad and Gaylon Goad; son, Robert Lewallen; son-in-law, Daniel Brackeen; a great-grandchild Little Eric.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Kay Brackeen, Sandra Sue Schiefelbein, Husband Greg of Newton, KS; Teresa Mae Trejo Cruz, Husband Luis of Austin, TX; Five Grandchildren, Misty Smith of Mrytle Beach, SC; Paige Smith, Fiancé Blake Bowin, Caitlin Bethards, Fiancé Jeremy Christiansen, Heather Schiefelbein, Boyfriend Anton Dickinson, all of Wichita, KS; Thomas Schiefelbein of Newton, KS; Five Great-Grandchildren, Jayden Smith of Missouri; Jaieson Odle, Jacob Simpson, Timothy Smith, Grace Bethards all of Wichita, KS.

Family visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, at The Church of God of the Firstborn, 125 E. 10th, Newton, Kansas.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 1100 E. 1st, Newton, Kansas.
