Donald Victor
Belcher
Oct 27, 1958 — Mar 19, 2025
Wichita
Donald V. Belcher, affectionately known as "Captain Zig Zag," 66 of Wichita, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2025, in El Dorado, Kansas surrounded by family. He was born October 27, 1958, in Wichita, the son of Allen and Mary (Hart) Belcher.
His early years were spent in Alva, Oklahoma before moving to Stafford, Kansas in his teens. The family eventually came to El Dorado.
Zig Zag was a true adventurer at heart. Whether he was doing daring flips and dives at the pool in Stafford, mastering pinball machines or hanging with friends, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Tearing apart radios, toasters, televisions, or anything else he could get his hands on became one of his favorite hobbies. Sometimes he would even put them back together! This skill, along with the guidance of his brother LaVerne "Bud" Renville, geared him to become a remarkable mechanic.
Donnie worked at various mechanic shops in Wichita. His passion for motorcycles and classic cars was evident. Singing karaoke to his favorite country songs was something he truly enjoyed. Spending time with his family and of course, his dogs was very important.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mary and brother G. LaVerne Renville.
Survivors include sister, Luana Renville and sister-in-law Marilyn Renville. He also leaves behind his nieces, Denise (Sean) Lineback, Teresa (Bert) Long, Kathryn (Rodney) Keithley, Loretta (Bruce) Lineback and Mona Renville; nephews, Jason (Kati) Renville, Randy (Joy) Shumway, Jeff (Lola) Shumway and Tony (Alicia) Shumway.
The family extends an invitation to celebrate the life and memories of Donnie with a gathering on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Train Depot, 430 N Main St, El Dorado, Kansas from 2:00-4:00. To honor his wishes a private graveside ceremony will be held at a later date with family.
