Dolores Lara, 69, of Wichita, KS, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Dolores was born in Colorado in July 1954 to John and the late Emelia R. Lara. She graduated from Augusta (KS) High School and Bethel College, and later attained her CPA. After graduation, she worked for several years as an accountant for Peat Marwick and Pizza Hut. Dolores would eventually move to California and go on to start her own successful recruiting company, Hemingway Personnel, which was active for more than two decades. Dolores was an avid runner, qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon three times, as well as competing in numerous other marathons and road races. Later in life, she was active in Toastmasters and won several awards for her public speaking. She is survived by her son, John Beruldsen; father John Lara; sister Linda Mitchell; brother John M. Lara; and brother Danny Lara. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emelia Lara.
