Delores E. Walker, 96, of Benton, Kansas, passed away May 28th, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Monday, June 16 , at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas. Delores was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 14, 1928 to the late Raymond Charles Spires and Ruth Evelyn Fleming. Then married Charles Eugene Davis on September 25th of 1948 having five children of their own. He proceeds her in death.

She was career waitress in the 1970s, retired once, and returned to work until she was 91. She made the news a couple of times. Her customers would say that she was the best around. She loved her children. She enjoyed her time with family and friends. She enjoyed country dancing, gardening, fishing, sewing, crocheting, and anything she could make by hand. Her family and friends were her everything.

She is survived by: her son, Dwayne Davis, of Augusta, Ks, daughter Karen Carley, (Donald) Benton, Kansas, daughter-in-law, Jane Davis, of Rose Hill, Kansas, sister, Patricia Shields, of Howard, Ks, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by; her brothers, Raymond, Charles and Leon Spires, daughter , Connie Brown, sons, Ronald and Steven Davis, granddaughter, Anastasia Davis , and grandson, Matthew Carley.
