Delfina was born on June 27th, 1946, to Guillerma Ortiz and Conrad Guantes in Waco, Tx.  Her mother passed away when Fina was still a baby and her Grandparents raised her.  She met Santos Pena when she was 15 years old at church one Sunday morning, and fell in love with him.  They were together for 32 years and had four children, Danny, Santos Jr. (Jay), Rosie and Chris.  Santos and Fina also were instrumental in raising Santos previous children Linda, Eddie, Janie (Pinky) & Ricky.  Fina embraced Santos kids like they were her own.  She made life fun and was always wanting to go places.  She pushed Santos to take the kids to the park, on country drives and specifically to Cameron Park to drive the seven sister curves as fast as Santos would allow.  She was full of life and loved to party, there were truly no dull moments with Fina in the early years.

One of her favorite things to do was cook, and she was amazing at it.  Homemade Tamales, Tacos, Mexican rice, refried beans, Pork Chops, the list of specialties goes on and on.  Fina worked as a waitress most of her working life, but a back injury caused her to retire early, during which time she helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In total, Fina and Santos' family grew to 74 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren during her lifetime.   Fina never lost her love of fun, the kids loved her and always wanted to be around her.  She had a contagious laugh and a contagious love that everyone around her felt.

Fina moved to Wichita, KS in 2017, to be near her youngest son, Chris and daughter-in-law, Jamie.  This was a tremendous change for her after living her whole life in Waco, TX, and she often mentioned the cold and snow.  Fina was reborn in 2017, when she made a commitment to serve the Lord with all of her heart.  She loved sharing her faith and spiritual walk with her family and friends.  She wanted everyone to know how vitally important a relationship with the Lord is.  Her passion for Jesus was so apparent.  Whether in person or over the phone, there was never any doubt who it was she served.  She filled her days listening to Christian music reading her bible and praying for her family and friends.

Fina's health problems began shortly after moving to Wichita, becoming more serious after 2021, when she battled pneumonia and recurring blood clots.  It was during her most recent bout with pneumonia where she took a serious turn for the worse.  Although she fought with everything in her, she sensed her time was close, and knew her Lord was calling her home.   She asked her children not to medically prolong her stay, but to honor her wishes and allow the Lord to take her home, which He did on July 19th, 2024.

Fina is survived by eight children, Linda Martel (Jim), Eddie Pena, Pinky Flores (Louis), Rick Pena (Jolinda), Danny Cassiano, Rosie Nino, Santos Jr. – Jay Cassiano (Terry), Chris Pena (Jamie), and 74 grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.  She was preceded in death by her Mother Guillerma Ortiz, Granddaughter Erica Rivera, Granddaughter Ivori Camfield, and Lifelong love Santos Pena.  May you rest in peace Mom, and enjoy the promises the Lord has in store for you.
