Deborah Sue McLaughlin (Grandstaff), 68, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on November 25, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, Deborah was the daughter of Troy and Rosie Grandstaff. She was the eldest of two daughters and shared a close bond with her younger sister, Diana. Deborah graduated from Wichita West High School in 1975 and carried throughout her life the values of hard work, compassion, and dedication.
In 1983, Deborah married Allen Fitchett, and together they welcomed two sons, Jason and Bryan. Becoming a mother was the role she treasured most, and her boys remained the center of her world throughout her life.
In January 2007, Deborah married Mark McLaughlin. Together they built a loving life filled with companionship, laughter, and countless memories. Their marriage was one of love and commitment that lasted until her passing.
Deborah worked for many years as a payroll clerk, earning the respect of coworkers through her dependability, attention to detail, and caring nature. She approached every responsibility with integrity and pride, but no accomplishment ever meant more to her than being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Her family was truly her greatest joy. Nothing made Deborah happier than spending time with those she loved. She celebrated every birthday, holiday, milestone, and family gathering with a full heart. Her grandchildren and great-grandson brought endless happiness to her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Her love was unconditional, her support unwavering, and her presence was a source of comfort and strength for everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Mark McLaughlin; her Step-Mother Pat Grandstaff; her beloved sons, Jason Fitchett and his partner, Michelle Nicholas, and Bryan and Ashley Fitchett. She was a proud and loving grandmother to **Boy Jordan, Taylor, Jazmine, Girl Jordan, Jayden, Jacob and Brooklynn. She was also blessed with one cherished great-grandson, Drelan , who brought immense joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Grandstaff and Rosetta and Wylan Cattrell , as well her beloved sister, Diana Grandstaff.
Deborah will be remembered for the incredible love she gave so freely, the kindness she showed to everyone she met, and the strength she demonstrated throughout her life. She had a gentle spirit, a caring heart, and a remarkable ability to make those around her feel loved and valued. Whether sharing a conversation, offering encouragement, or simply spending time with her family, Deborah made every moment meaningful.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in the countless memories she created and the love she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on in her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandson, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Reliance Community Church - 11910 W. Pawnee St. - Wichita Ks 67215
