Dawna Hill passed away September 19, 2023 at the age of 54 years.

She is survived by her two sisters Dana Dilks, Danise Delaney; her children John Hicks Jr., Elizabeth Hicks, Mathew Price, Stephanie Codero, Ian Price; 10 grandchildren, 6 cousins and her partner Kirk Graham.

She spent her last 5-6 years fighting a terminal illness that ultimately she succumbed to, which is a direct testament to her strength and determination. Knowing of her diagnosis she worked on reconnecting with those who were distant to her, either in miles or in heart. As a young single parent she learned different survival skills to include basic tune up of her vehicle and was able to complete minor electrical projects. As an adult she enjoyed singing and dancing to old gospel music. She was known to pull out the spoons and join in. She was also an avid story teller and kept our family stories alive.

Her wishes were to be cremated, without any planned gatherings or public services. She enjoyed a celebration of life with her friends and family after her diagnosis. Her children will be planning a memorial to celebrate her life in the near future.
