David "Dave" Bruce Williamson, 70, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 14, 2026. Born on August 9, 1955, to Bill and Betty (Roberts) Williamson, Dave grew up in a bustling home as one of six children, shaped by strong Catholic values, deep family bonds, and a mischievous sense of humor that stayed with him all his life.

Dave graduated from Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in 1973 and proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1974 to 1978 as a fireman and engine man stationed in Port Isabel, South Padre, Texas. After returning to civilian life, he began a long and dedicated career with Cessna Aircraft Company, where he worked for 20 years and retired in 1999 as a Flight Lead Mechanic.

On April 27, 1979, Dave married Marcia (Cushing) Williamson. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and adventure as they raised their two sons, Jason and Jeremiah, in addition to many four-legged critters. Though they later went their separate ways, Dave and Marci remained forever united in the love they shared for their boys. Their continued friendship brought comfort and joy to their children and their grandchildren, who grew up knowing the warmth of having both present at family celebrations.

Dave was endlessly proud of his sons—of their service to their country and their community, their dedication to their families, and the men they had become. He adored his daughters-in-law and reveled in being "Grandpa Dave." His grandchildren will forever remember his silly stories, his playful spirit, and the way he could coax a laugh out of anyone, even if the joke was a little questionable for young ears. For Dave, a good chuckle was always worth it.

He loved the mountains, family vacations, and the kind of fun that often ended with him in the buff—much to the amusement (and occasional embarrassment) of those around him. His smile could light up a room, he had a gentle sincerity about him that felt seemingly effortless. In his later years, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family—quietly taking in their laughter, enjoying their conversations, and witnessing their happiness. He was content.

Dave is survived by his sons, Jason (Amanda) Williamson and Jeremiah (Stacie) Williamson; his grandchildren Brennen, Ava, Reed, Liam, Annie, and Molly; and his siblings Steve (Marta) Williamson, Randy Williamson, Mike (Joan) Williamson, and Ann (Lin) Medlin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Betty Williamson, and his brother Tim Williamson.

Dave will be remembered as a man who would give you the shirt off his back, who loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived with a generous heart. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless moments of joy he created.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 3pm-6pm at The Hive located at 231 E Main St, Valley Center, KS 67147. A private burial ceremony will be held at a later date.
