David Lyn Clay, 79, of Wichita, KS, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at Glen Carr House Memory Care in Derby, KS, with his son at his side. He was born May 18, 1946, in Wichita, KS to Charles and Maxine (Lindley) Clay.

David graduated from Andover High School in 1964. He was an avid bowler for most of his adult life. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and watching baseball from little league to major league. He retired after 36 years as a lead expediter for the Boeing Aircraft Company. In his retirement years, he owned property at Kaw Lake and enjoyed spending time there with his family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maxine Clay, Brother James Clay and sister, Carol Gardener.

He is survived by his son, Scott Clay (Alicia) of Derby, KS; brother, Ron Clay (Sue) of Wichita, KS; Brother-in-law, Neil Gardener of Nixa, MO; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home in Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association of Central and Western Kansas in his name. https://www.alz.org/cwkansas?form=FUNEWSVCTDJ
